Cooking Tips Big River Lost Meats Products are BEST Prepared using the following Methods :
Please Do NOT Boil or Pre-boil
Grilling - Nothing Beats the Grill for preparing Sausages! Make sure the grill is not
too Hot. Place the Sausage on the Grill and turn Often to avoid burning.
Steaming - Pour a small amount of oil in a Skillet, set Heat to Low or Medium setting.
Add Sausage to pan and when links start to grow, add just enough water
(or Beer) to cover the bottom of the pan, cover the pan. Add liquid as
necessary to enhance the Steaming Process. Sausage is done when you
see water slightly moving beneath the casing.
Frying - Pour a small amount of oil in a Skillet, set Heat to Low or Medium setting.
Add Sausage to pan and after a few minutes the links will grow in size. Start
turning links so they will brown on all sides and cook in the middle. Add oil as
needed to prevent burning.
You have to add a small amount of oil, water or beer when cooking because our sausages are so lean Do Not burn or prick holes in the sausage casings, it is important to keep the juices inside to maintain the Hearty, Distinctive Flavor
Storage Tips
After our sausages are Stuffed, the Salami made
and the Beef, Breakfast Sausage and
Buffalo Patties shaped, Our Big River Lost Meats Products
are placed into Food
Quality
bags and are
Vacuum Sealed for Freshness. Our Products are then placed in Meat Coolers
and Freezers
which are Monitored Daily to insure that everything is properly maintained to
insure
freshness until they are shipped to our Customers.
Our Products will last
almost indefinitely
in Your Freezer in their Vacuum Sealed Bags.
We do have some Tips for You once you Open the Pouch :
Do not try to reseal the pouch
for storing left over sausages or products.
Once they have been Opened, Big Lost River Products seem to keep BEST
in a
Plastic Container, Plastic Bag or Aluminum Foil in your refrigerator or ice chest.

Should you not use all of them, they store just as well in the
refrigerator after you
Bar-B-Que them. A little Microwaving and and they are ready for an
Omelet, Soup,
Special Dish or just on a Bun.

Cooked Sausages may be Heated in the Microwave or added to soup, dishes, or sauces and heated through.
Uncooked sausages may take longer to cook. Please take time to ensure the sausage is cooked through completely before adding to any dishes.
